Muslims seek legislation on reservation

VILLUPURAM: The Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam has appealed to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to pass legislation in the State Assembly on reservation for Muslims in educational institutions and employment prior to the local body elections.

S.S. Jainuddin, president of the Kazhagam, thanked the Chief Minister for having re-installed the Kannagi statue in Chennai.

He also called upon the Chief Minister to implement Tamil as the official language of Madras High Court.

Mr. Jainuddin urged the Government to take stern measures against those who disturb law and order.
