Always ready to `surprise'

There is one peculiarity about `exchanges of fire between police and other persons' that take place in and around the State Capital.

It is not the reliability of such incidents that is talked about in hushed tones but the agency involved that springs a surprise every time.

Whether the victims are offenders or left wing extremists, most of the time it's the Cyberabad Police on the other side. Be it the recent killing of a naxal couple at Hayathnagar or the gunning down of an accused in a kidnap case the other day.

Interestingly, the victims open fire first and the police retaliate later in all cases. Well! Like the Standard Operating Procedure of the Cyberabad Police, this seems to be the `standard operational pattern' of all encounters.
