King's assets under scanner

Ameet Dhakal

KATHMANDU: The Nepalese Parliament's Public Account Committee (PAC) on Thursday asked the Government to furnish details of the property owned by royal family members within 15 days. This is for the first time that Parliament has sought details of the royal family property. The move follows a House Proclamation passed some weeks ago that said the property of the royal family, including that of the King, would be taxed. The PAC has also asked the Ministers in the Koirala Government to furnish affidavits declaring their assets within 15 days.
