"Safari Sunday" packed with wildlife encounters

NEW DELHI: Providing a rare perspective on creatures of the wild, Animal Planet will air a special weekly programme, "Safari Sunday", beginning this Sunday.

Since a number of wild animals are in danger of being driven to extinction by human development, Animal Planet will focus on this aspect in its programme "One Planet" from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

"Around The World With Tippi" from 9 a.m. to 9-30 a.m. catches up with Tippi, a French girl, who as a child developed a unique passion for wild animals, while "Most Extreme" between 9-30 a.m. and 10-30 a.m. focuses on the top ten animals who are the fastest, strongest and the greediest. Packed with action and intimate wildlife encounters, "TV With Teeth" from 10-30 a.m. to 11-30 a.m. brings the ultimate experience of wildlife, while "O'shea's Big Adventure" between 11-30 a.m. and 12-30 p.m. focuses on a different country and a primary creature.

In each country, Mark O'Shea, an internationally renowned herpetologist, teams up with a fellow expert and adventurer on their home ground. O'Shea travels around the globe to catch the most rare, dangerous and bizarre reptiles of the wild.

Hosted by Michelle Beadle, "Animal Planet Report" from 12-30 p.m. to 1 p.m. features the latest developments from the world of animals and gives viewers a show that informs and enlightens them. "Young And Wild" between 1 p.m. and 1-30 p.m. is a celebration of the wonderful world of animals from infants to adolescents to the parents who raise them.

In "Attenborough Presents" from 1-30 p.m. to 2-30 p.m., David Attenborough removes confusion about the current state of our planet including global warming and extinction of species. "Wild On The Set" between 2-30 p.m. and 3 p.m. begins with stunning sequences of the animals in action taken from the movies or shot by cameras on the set.

Other follow-up programmes include "Blue Planet", "Austin Stevens: Most Dangerous", "Tale of a Tiger" and "Indian Jungle Safari"
