Sarma retires as Prasar Bharati CEO

NEW DELHI: K.S. Sarma, chief executive officer, Prasar Bharati, on Friday stepped down on attaining the age of superannuation. He served in that post for four years.

An IAS officer of the 1968 batch from Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Sarma entered the public broadcasting scenario first as the Joint Secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and later as the Director-General of Doordarshan.

The new CEO will be appointed by a high power committee headed by the Vice-President.

An interim arrangement will be announced shortly.
