BANGALORE: The three-day visit of a high-level delegation led by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to Singapore is stated to have generated awareness and enthusiasm about the investment opportunities in the State among businessmen and industrialists there. On June 27, the delegation held a road show on "Investment Opportunities in Karnataka" before a select audience of investors in that country, numbering over 100. The road show was conducted in association with the Singapore India Chamber of Commence and Industry. The delegation held bilateral meetings with the Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry to understand the experience and achievements of that country in providing world-class infrastructure and services in urban transport and housing, particularly for the middle- and low-income groups; drinking water supply; recycling of water; and urban development projects such as townships, roads and airport terminal services. The delegation held meetings with Keppel Land International Ltd., Hyflux Ltd., the Housing Development Board and the Singapore Land Transport Consortium. The delegation visited projects and facilities of some of these organisations. Mr. Kumaraswamy attended a luncheon meeting with Singapore President S.R. Nathan on Wednesday. The Chief minister also met Kannadigas living in Singapore. He attended the 10th anniversary function of the Singapore Kannada Sangha.
