London: Former Sri Lanka captain Aravinda de Silva has become the latest addition to Lashings World XI, already boasting of such stars as Sachin Tendulkar and Chris Cairns. De Silva, a superb batsman of his times, will play a couple of matches for the celebrity club over the next few weeks, the club said in a press release. His first outing will be a game against Taunton School at Somerset on July 4. Sri Lanka all-rounder Russel Arnold will join his ex-captain on July 11 when the team is slated to travel to Cornwall to play against Penryn School. Tendulkar and Ajit Agarkar, who also recently joined the club, will play away matches against Middleton Cricket Club on July 2 and Taunton School, Somerset, on July 4. — PTI
