THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Babu N. Sudhakar (TN) won the CUSAT FIDE-rated all-India chess tournament here on Friday. Babu edged out team-mates Aswin Jayaram and Sharma R. Preetham by virtue of a better progressive score (56) after the three players tied for the first spot with nine points each at the end of the 11th round. Aswin (55) finished second while Sharma R. Preetham (54.5) was third. Top seed K.Rathnakaran of Kerala finished fifth in the tournament. Final Standing: 1. Babu N. Sudhakar (TN) 9 pts (56), 2. Aswin Jayaram (TN) 9 pts (55), 3. Sharma R.
