Cultural events planned to mark `Greeshmaritu'

They will be held on Saturdays from today

BELLARY: Cultural programmes will be held this month to mark "Greeshmaritu".

The programmes will be held on Saturdays at the Raghava Kala Mandir beginning from this Saturday at 6 p.m. as part of Kaladarshana - Greeshmotsava presented by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bellary Kendra, along with the Infosys Foundation and the Raghava Memorial Association, Bellary.

The programmes include Carnatic and Hindustani music, dance and drama. Ashwini Satish and party will render Carnatic music on Saturday at 6 p.m. On July 8, Chitra Arvind will present a

Bharatanatya programme. "Nanna Gopala", a play by Kuvempu, will be staged on July 15 by Rangakahale. It is directed by C. Lakshman, actor. A flute and violin jugalbandi by L.U. Mukund and party will be held on July 22. There will be Hindustani music by K. Doddabasappa and party on July 29.

Entry is free, according to Pola Radhakrishna, secretary of the kendra.
