Petition on PG seat dismissed
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Karnataka High Court on Thursday rejected a petition by a dental student seeking to quash a notification by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) prescribing a minimum of 50 per cent of marks in the qualifying examination for obtaining a postgraduate seat. The student, Suraj Shetty, said he had completed his Bachelor of Dental Sciences course and that he had appeared for the PG common entrance test. Mr. Shetty said he had obtained 44 per cent of marks and was denied a seat by the S.D.M. College in Dharwad for doing MDS course. He said the Dental Council of India had not prescribed any such norms.
Justice D.V. Shylendra Kumar dismissed the petition, saying there was nothing wrong in the university notification.
