Bidar: The State Government will soon fill 771 vacant posts of various technical officers in the Agriculture Department. The proposal has been cleared at the level of the Ministry and is pending approval of the Finance Department, Agriculture Minister and district in-charge Bandeppa Kashempur said here on Saturday. He was speaking at the Gulbarga division-level sugarcane growers' conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Farmers' Associations. The Government would celebrate Farmers' Day on December 23, he said. Many schemes had been initiated to better the lot of farmers. The Government was encouraging natural and organic farming. The University of Agricultural Sciences had been asked to develop demonstration plots and the Government would provide subsidy to those who opt for these farming systems, he said.
