Sharad Yadav for ordinance against hoarders

Special Correspondent

Charges the Centre with failure on food security front

NEW DELHI: Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav on Saturday charged the Government with failure on the food security front. He said an ordinance should be promulgated to acquire stocks hoarded by traders to ease the burden of high prices on the common man.

Briefing mediapersons here, Mr. Yadav said the only option before the Government was to control hoarding.

Criticising the Centre's decision to import wheat, he said this could have been avoided had the powers that be remained vigilant.
