Aircel launches phone book service
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
Aircel subscribers can now store unlimited contact numbers without worrying about phone memory. This service also dispels worry over losing important numbers when a handset is lost.
A statement from the cellular service provider announced the launch of the phone book facility on Thursday.
Subscribers can register for the service by messaging `Pbook' to 2222 and forwarding all their contacts to the same number free.
For Rs.25 a month, users will be able to retrieve the contacts by messaging the number or using the given URL.
Passwords
Individual users will have passwords allotted to them.
Aircel claims to be the first cellular operator in India to have launched this service.
K.V.P. Baskar, CEO, said that the company planned to "pioneer more such value added services."
