Foreign varsity admissions

CHENNAI: The Nottingham Trent University representatives will be visiting the Study Overseas Ltd. (UK) Chennai office on Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to meet prospective students and offer spot admissions. The university is offering one-year work placements on master's level courses in computing and informatics. Students would have to complete their final M.Sc. project on returning from placement. It is also offering a remission of a year's tuition fees for any taught Masters course for overseas students, not exceeding the sum of UK domestic fees. Eye and dental camp

Singhvi Charitable Trust organised eye and dental camps at Athipattu Pudhu Nagar and Singhvi Diagnostic Centre.

About 185 patients were treated, 151 spectacles distributed and 16 patients were referred for eye surgeries at the Diagnostic Centre in the city.

Yoga classes

The Sun Ashtanga Yoga Centre would conduct Yoga classes for children and adults from Sunday onwards at various places in Chennai. It would include lectures on natural diet and workshops on food and memory.

Handwriting improvement workshop

Training in meditation

A free two-day training programme in Pranahuti Aided Meditation would be conducted by the Institute of Sri Ramachandra Consciousness on July 8 and 9 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at 42, Rajagopalan Street, Sri Devi Karumari Amman Nagar, Valasarawakkam. Competitions for children

Jayavidya Learning Centre will be conducting various competitions for children in the age groups four to six, seven to nine, 10 to 12 and 13 to 15 at Vijayabharathi MHSS at 8, Dhanalakshmi Colony Main Road, Vadapalani, on the Sundays of this month, beginning July 2.
