CHENNAI: Thousands of students and parents who were eagerly waiting on Saturday to view the rank list of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2006 were disappointed, as the University's website remained inaccessible throughout the day. Anxious parents, and students in Tamil Nadu and outside the State who had written the TNPCEE were hoping to see their rank in the list, after the University released it formally on Saturday morning. Many students called newspaper offices to complain that as per the university's announcement that the results would be available from 10 a.m., but they could not access it after several attempts. A parent D.Giridharan called this newspaper to find out whether the university had given the rank list for publication. The only option for the students was the bank of terminals that was available at Anna University's examination centre that had hosted the results. The website could not be accessed till 9 p.m. When contacted the Vice-Chancellor's office replied that alternate arrangements were being made to upload the rank list on private websites.
