Join Jaison George, 21-year-old keyboardist, in his attempt to play the musical instrument non-stop for 50 hours. A native of Piravam, Eranakulam, Jaison aims at securing a place for himself in the Limca Book of Records and the Guinness Book of World Records through the feat. The three-day programme will begin at the panchayat association hall at Vellayambalam on Wednesday. Apart from maintaining a logbook to record the developments of the event, independent observers will also be present to assess Jaison's performance every four hours. This is the first time anyone is attempting to play the keyboard non-stop for 50 hours, according to a release issued by the programme committee.
Recognitions
Jaison, who took to playing keyboard at an early age, has won several international recognitions for his talent. Jaison had bagged the first prize at an All India competition in Western Music organised by the Nehru Balasangham at Bangalore in 2001. He has also won a citation from the True Vision Ministry in Kuwait in 2004. Some of the venues and events were Jaison has performed include national integration camp, Bangalore and Mumbai, Hotel Holiday Inn, Kuwait, Bhongir young star music festival, Andhra Pradesh, programme by Ywa in the Andaman Nicobar Islands and music night at Anna Nagar, Chennai. The programme will be inaugurated by Pannian Ravindran, MP, at 11a.m. The function will be presided over by Sivankutty, MLA. The programme organised by Heavenly Voice will conclude on Thursday. The inaugural function will also be attended by D. Babu Paul and M.J. Sanal Kumar, senior administrative officer, Forest Department. The valedictory function will be inaugurated by Mayor C. Jayan Babu. The function will also be attended by various elected representatives, including V. Surendran Pillai and M.J. Jacob.
