Mortar shell defused

Jammu: Police on Sunday defused a live mortar shell found at the Kameshwar temple on the Akhnoor border of the district.

The 2.5 ft long shell, recovered following information by local people, was found near the boundary wall of the temple.

A bomb disposal squad was called, traffic stopped on the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway for an hour and the shell defused. — PTI
