School volleyball team set for Lankan tour

BANGALORE: A volleyball team of Sree Rama Vidyalaya, Jayanagar, here, will participate in an Indo-Sri Lanka volleyball series to be held in Colombo from July 4 to 11. According to Rathnaiah Setty, secretary of Sree Rama Vidyalaya, the team would play four day matches and three floodlit ties.

Mr. Setty said that the school team was selected on the basis of its consistent performance in the taluk and State-level tournaments this season. Quite a few of school players have found a place in the State junior and sub-junior teams, he added.

The Colombo bound team is: Boys: G. Sriram (capt.), R. Pramukh, M. Mahesh, Mohd. Waheel Wakeel, G. Gopal, C.S. Shreyas, Haneef Ahmed, C.V. Ashutosh, Pramod, Srujan M. Atlur, R. Chadan, N. Sashank, R. Shreyas and M. Praveen.

Girls: C.M. Greeshma (capt.), C.R. Anusha, S. Monali, M. Apoorva, Varsha R. Rao, Shaerlin Veronica, Tejaswini, M. Varistha, Bhuvana Chander, Vimca Angel Seravo, Jasmin Thakka, S.K. Tanuja, K.R. Priya, C.R. Sindhu and Lakshmi D. Rao.

Officials: K.B. Shivalinge Gowda, R. Suresh (managers), Aslam Pasha, Sudhir and Asha (coaches).
