Good bowling by Mohit

HYDERABAD: Good bowling by Y.A. Mohit Kumar (seven for 40) helped Deccan Chronicle record an innings and 129-run win against Vimco in the A-Division two-day league cricket championship here on Saturday.

Fifteen year old off spinner K. Nimeesh Reddy also took seven wickets for 49 runs for Gujarathi CC which drew with Jai Bhagwathi CC in another match.

The scores: A-Division (two-day) league: Gemini Friends 159 and 171 for six (Shakeel 66) drew with PKMCC 181 (Navjoth five for 47).

Vimco 86 and 110 (Y.A. Mohit Kumar seven for 40) lost to Deccan Chronicle 325 (M. Vinay Kumar 62 not out, N. Abhinav 40, Jaison seven for 120).

Mega City 163 and 159 (Hitesh Tikyani 82, C. Kiran 44, Sashidhar four for 12) drew with Balaji Colts 245 (C. Kiran 44).

CCOB 128 and 93 (K. Hemanth Kumar five for 31, Syed Naser Ali five for 21) lost to VST 249 (Mirza Maqbool Baig 80, S. Abdul Arif 50, Qader five for 78).

Gujarati 288 (Tejo Ganesh 79, M. Rohit four for 91) and 176 for five (Tejo Ganesh 84, K. Nimeesh Reddy 49) drew with Jai Bhagawathi 194 (P.S.S. Naresh 62, R. Samul 44, Nimeesh Reddy seven for 86).

Hyderabad Wanderers 167 (Riaz 48, Md Khaja Nizamuddin four for 36) lost to Noble CC 168 for five (Sayeed Binali Jaidi 69).

Pondicherry wins title

Pondicherry won by a narrow margin of two runs against Hyderabad to win the sixth Senior national indoor cricket championship at ML Jaisimha 365 Cricket Academy here. Batting first, Pondicherry scored 90 in 16 overs and in reply Hyderabad could muster only 88.

Sai Krishna, Sahaja and Chinna win gold

G.V. Sai Krishna of Krishna district (boys under 10), Ch. Sahaja Sri of Karimnagar (girls under 10) and Meher Chinna Reddy of Guntur (boys under 12) won golds in the Asian youth chess championship which concluded in Tehran on June 30, according to a press release here. B. Pratyusha of Visakhapatnam picked a bronze in the under-10 category.

Chess coaches' meet

The Tal Chess Academy will organise a chess coaches meet on its premises in Himayathnagar on July 2 from 2.00 pm, according to G.Srinivas, Director of the Academy. Further details can be had on Phone No. 98486 44690.

State Junior meet

Krishna District Amateur Athletic Association (KDAAA) will host AP State junior athletic meet for under-14, under-16, under-18 and under-20 age groups from August 4 to 6 in Vijayawada. Around 1,800 athletes from all the districts would participate in the event and AP teams for the South Zone junior athletic championship would be selected during the meet. A three-day athletic clinic would be held for the officials from August 1 to 3.
