Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Yesterdays well-marked low pressure area over northwest bay and neighbourhood rapidly intensified in to a deep depression and lies centered at 02/0300 UTC within a half a degree latitude 20.5 degree north and longitude 89.0 degree east at about 250 kilometres south east of Balasur. It is likely to move in a west north westerly direction and cross coast between Paradeep and Digha by tomorrow morning.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, at many places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Rayalaseema, Telangana, Lakshadweep and interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours and isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over coastal Karnataka during the same period.
