Kannan lifts trophy

TIRUCHI: G. Kannan of Musiri Sports Club defeated S. Sukkrisa Kumar of Campion Anglo Indian HSS 15-3, 15-5 and won the under-19 singles title at the district-level badminton tournament here on Saturday.

The results: (all finals): singles: U-12: Nilesh Patel (Kamala Niketan Montessori Secondary School) bt Ajay (Kamala Niketan Montessori Secondary School) 15-6, 15-3; doubles: U-12: Nilesh Patel and Ajay bt Kadhir and Thamaraiselvan (SBIOA) 15-5, 15-0; U-14: B. Saranath and S. Saravanan (Campion Anglo Indian HSS) bt K. Sudharshan and S. Gokula Krishnan (RSK HSS) 15-10, 12-15, 15-9.
