dated July 3, 1956: Shantaram's advice

Mr. V. Shantaram, the well-known film producer and director, has advised film critics to adopt a "fatherly attitude" in their criticism and especially be charitable to new and young producers and artistes. Declaring open a reading room started by the Film Journalists' Association on the premises of the Press Club in Madras, he said he intended to make a Tamil film with Tamil artistes. The picture would depict an effort made in the reformation of criminals.
