KOZHIKODE: The Ombudsman for Local-Self Government Institutions has directed the Kerala State Pollution Control Board (PCB) to ensure that the distance between mobile phone towers and institutions and houses, and radiation levels from them are within the stipulated limits. The directive came in the wake of complaints in this regard brought before the authority. Of the 35 cases considered at a sitting of the Board at the Collectorate conference hall here on Saturday, 15 were settled. Authorities of Kozhikode Government Medical College and the corporation were asked to inform the Ombudsman of a system to treat effluents from the l college at the next sitting. The Koyilandy municipality was asked to give a report on the location identified for garbage disposal and treatment.
