BANGALORE: The Common Entrance Test (CET-2006) admission round seat selection process for medical and dental courses will commence on Monday at the CET Cell here. Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will formally inaugurate process and also felicitate the top rank holders in both medical and engineering disciplines. Eligible medical/dental rank holders should bring along with them the required documents in original besides a set of attested photocopies and a passport size photograph, a release from the CET Cell said. All the candidates will have to bring the prescribed fee only in the form of a demand draft, pay order or banker's cheque drawn in favour of the "Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore" payable at Bangalore. The fee for MBBS is Rs. 16,700 in government colleges; Rs. 42,500 in private unaided colleges (Category A); Rs. 2,97,500 under Category B and Rs. 1,23,500 under Category B for SC / ST category candidates whose annual family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh. The fee for BDS is Rs. 14,400 in government colleges; Rs. 32,500 in private unaided colleges under Category A and Rs. 2,37,500 under Category B and Rs. 99,500 under Category B for SC / ST category candidates with annual family income less than Rs. 1 lakh.
Seats available
In all, 1,347 MBBS seats will be available for selection under Category A (Concessional Fee) and 341 seats under Category B (Higher Fee). As many as 864 BDS seats will be offered under Category A and 267 under Category B. The MBBS seat availability for various reserved categories under Category A and B are as follows: Category 1G--44 seats (Category A) and 12 seats (Category B); 1K-3 and 1; 1R--7 and 1; 2AG-161 and 41; 2AK-10 and 3; 2AR-30 and 7; 2BG-44 and 11; 2BK-3 and 1; 2BR-7 and 2; 3AG-43 and 11; 3AK-3 and 1; 3AR-7 and 2; 3BG-54 and 13; 3BK-3 and 1; 3BR-10 and 3; D-4 and 0; GM-534 and 136; GMK-33 and 8; GMR-101 and 26; S-G-2 and 0; SCG-161 and 41; SCK-10 and 3; SCR-30 and 7; STG-32 and 8; STK-2 and 0; STR-6 and 2; XD-3 and 0. The BDS seat availability for various reserved categories under Category A and B are as follows: Category 1G-28 and 9; 1K-2 and 1; 1R-4 and 2; 2AG-102 and 33; 2AK-7 and 2; 2AR-17 and 5; 2BG-28 and 8; 2BK-2 and 1; 2BR-5 and 2; 3AG-30 and 9; 3AK-2 and 1; 3AR-7 and 1; 3BG-35 and 11; 3BK-2 and 0; 3BR-7 and 1; D-1 and 0; GM-342 and 107; GMK-20 and 7; GMR-67 and 20; S-G-1 and 0; SCG-101 and 32; SCK-5 and 1; SCR-21 and 5; STG-21 and 8; STK-1 and 0; STR-5 and 1; XD-1 and 0.
