NAGPUR: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday directed the Maharashtra Government officials to monitor the progress of developmental works in Vidharbha region. The Prime Minister's directives came during a high-level review meeting on Vidharbha region's development, which he attended at Raj Bhavan here, a senior offical told PTI. "The Prime Minister was in particular asked about implications of environmental issues pertaining to various development projects and asked officials to find ways to speed up the work," the official said. Dr. Singh watched 11 presentations made by Collectors on the status of development works in the region. The meeting was attended by several State ministers, top bureaucrats, district collectors and CEOs of Zilla Parsishads in the region, the offical said.
