British Council organises seminar on "student visas"

CHENNAI: Students interested in studying in the U.K. should apply for their student's visa at least two to six weeks before date of travel.

At a seminar on "Student Visas" organised at the British Council on Friday, Entry Clearance Officers from the Visa Office Department of British High Commission George Farrell and Lai-Ming Siu said it would be ideal if students allowed plenty of time for the visa to be approved. There are two ways to apply for a student's visa. One is via the VFS by visiting one of the visa application centres. There are 11 such centres in the country. The second option is over the Internet from www.ukindia.co.in. In this option, the required documents shall have to be sent by post to the nearest VFS centre. More details are available on www.vfs-uk.co.in.
