Sanitation: plan to rope in engineering students
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD
: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad is planning to rope in young engineering students of the twin cities interested in operational research to perk up its health and sanitation activities.
A request would be made to all engineering colleges to nominate interested and talented students, especially of the mechanical engineering wing, to associate with the Corporation, Additional Commissioner B. Ramesh Babu, holding additional charge of health and sanitation, said on Saturday.
Earlier, he along with Commissioner Sanjay Jaju, inspected areas near Malakpet, Dilshuknagar, Saidabad, Chanchalguda, Chandrayanagutta,
Falaknuma and their environs to check sanitation measures. They interacted with local residents on the malarial fevers and mosquito menace. The Chief Entomologist was asked to conduct door-to-door survey and undertake anti-malarial activities. Mr. Jaju appealed to citizens to cooperate with MCH by keeping their surroundings clean.
A manual for sanitary officials will be prepared to fix up their duties and responsibilities, he said, according to a press release.
