Driver threatened, auto taken away

BANGALORE: Three men, who boarded an autorickshaw in the guise of passengers, drove away with the vehicle after threatening the driver with a knife in HAL Police Station limits on Saturday, the police said.

The driver, Rangaswamy, in his complaint to the police, said the men boarded his autorickshaw near NGEF when he was returning home and asked him to drop them at Marathahalli. The three directed him to go past Marathahalli and threatened Rangaswamy with a knife before driving away with the vehicle. HAL Police have registered a case. Investigation is on.

Robbed

In another case, two men waylaid a motorcyclist and robbed him of a gold chain and a mobile phone handset worth Rs. 24,000 in Hebbal Police Station limits on Saturday.

In his complaint to the police, Arunodaya Pratapsingh, resident of Ashwathnagar, said the men stopped him in front of the Presidency College at Kempapura.

They questioned him about his identity and slapped him before robbing him of the chain and mobile phone, he said. Hebbal Police have registered a case of robbery. Investigation is on.

Chains snatched

Two women were robbed of their mangalasutras by motorcycle-borne men in as many incidents reported from Fraser Town and Ulsoor Police Station limits on Sunday.

Mahalakshmi (26) was on her home after purchasing vegetables on Raminal Road when her chain was snatched. The Fraser Town Police have registered a case. Investigation is on.

In the second incident, Mahalakshmi (45) was walking on Cambridge Road when an attempt was made to snatch her chain. Though she offered resistance, a portion of her chain was snatched, the police said. Ulsoor Police have registered a case.
