Regularise

revenue sites

Sir, — This is regarding the regularisation of revenue sites in Bangalore, most of which have been purchased by lower middle class people. Owing to certain rules, site-owners are unable to build houses or sell their property.

H.D. Kumaraswamy on assuming charge as Chief Minister promised that these sites would be regularised. Many people have been waiting for orders from the Government for the regularisation of sites, but no orders have been issued. The Chief Minister is requested to fulfil this promise.

Stop building flyovers

Sir, — With the proposed metro rail, the plan to have more flyovers in Bangalore should be dropped as this will be a waste of resources. The experience so far is that flyovers really do not solve the traffic problem. There is always congestion either at the entrance or the exit of the flyover.

Unfortunately, most flyovers have been made one-way and this does not help reduce the congestion. There is a need to review the one-way rule on most of these roads.

Improve sanitation

at Russel Market

Sir, — Russel Market is a busy area, particularly in the mornings. The sanitary condition in the market is in need of urgent attention. The parking area opposite the market is in a pathetic condition, the road is broken and it is a nightmare to park two-wheelers there. The road requires immediate repair. I urge the authorities concerned to look into this problem.

Underpass in

poor condition

Sir, — The maintenance of Mehkri Circle underpass is poor. There is always a possibility of traffic getting jammed here owing to the potholes. Will the authorities concerned do something about this to ensure the safe movement of vehicles?

Need for post box

Sir, — There is no post box on 2nd Main Road Vyalikaval, between Vinayaka Circle and Sadashiv Nagar Circle. This area comes under Malleswaram P.O. Box 560003. I urge the authorities concerned to install two post boxes on this stretch.
