Dehra Dun: Intensifying their struggle against the proposed demolition of Central School in Clementown Cantt area by Army authority here, representatives of Kendriya Vidyalaya Abhibhavak Sangharsh Samiti has decided to call on President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. "Representatives along with ten students will meet the President in a week if the authority concerned fails to address the problem," said Mahesh Pandey, one of the representatives. The Army authority's decision to demolish the building of Kendriya Vidyalaya falling in their area by next year has created furore amongst the parents of 1500 students of the school. Their resentment was further aggravated when authority failed to provide satisfactory alternative. Giving a political twist to the agitation BJP has jumped into the fray with former Chief Minister Nityanand Swami issuing statement in support of agitation. Meanwhile, according to parents, Chief Minister N.D. Tiwari has assured them that school would not be allowed to close down and he would write a letter to Defence Minister in this regard. -- UNI
