KOLKATA: A member of the finance committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India, Goutam Dasgupta, has said that the secretary of the national body, Niranjan Shah, has attributed decisions to the sub-committee which it never took. Mr. Dasgupta said that the BCCI had wrongly quoted its finance committee in implicating the Cricket Association of Bengal president, Jagmohan Dalmiya. He termed the BCCI move an "after-thought and motivated plan on the part of a few.'' The BCCI sent a letter to the CAB president on June 29 saying that its finance committee had taken a decision, in a meeting held on April 28 this year, to stop all subsidies and payments to its State affiliate till the transaction details of the latter with the Indian Overseas Bank (Bhawanipur Branch) were furnished. The letter also said an amount of Rs. 40 crore would be debited to the CAB for the same reason. - Principal Correspondent
