ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Foreign Ministry said on Monday that "there will be a visit" by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Pakistan although there are no dates for this yet. Responding to a question about Dr. Singh's much speculated-upon visit, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said at a briefing that the Prime Minister had accepted Pakistan's invitation but had given no dates yet. "But I can tell you there will be a visit." The Foreign Secretaries of the two countries are scheduled to meet later this month in New Delhi for reviewing the third round of the composite dialogue process, she said. The third round ended with the talks on the Wullar/Tulbul project last month. Although Ms. Aslam did not give a date for the review meeting, it was earlier announced that the meeting is scheduled for July 20. The Foreign Secretaries' review meeting at the end of the second round of the composite dialogue process last year was followed by a Foreign Ministers' review meeting. This time, as India has no External Affairs Minister of Cabinet rank after the departure of Natwar Singh in the Iraq oil-for-food scandal, no ministerial-level meeting has been scheduled.
