NEW DELHI: Sandipan Chanda, Surya Shekhar Ganguly and Abhijit Kunte were among those sharing the fifth spot with four points after five rounds of the World Open chess tournament in Philadelphia on Sunday. Chanda, who lost the fourth round to current leader Vadim Milov (five points), defeated Yoshiharu Habu. Ganguly drew with Idhar Ibragimov and Kunte won against Ronald Burnett. The results (5th round, involving Indians): Ildhar Ibragimov (4) drew with Surya Shekhar Ganguly (4); Abhjijit Kunte (4) bt Ronald Burnett (3); Sandipan Chanda (4) bt Yoshiharu Habu (3); Nisha Mohota (3.50 drew with Alonso Zapata (3.5); J. Daniel Ludwig (3.5) bt S. Vijayalakshmi (2.5); P. Magesh Chandran (3.5) bt William Moreno (2.5); Alex Cherniack (3) drew with D. Harika (3); S. Meenakshi (3) drew with James Critelli (3); Swati Ghate (3) bt Richard Francisco (2).
