Aditya in two finals

BANGALORE: Aditya R. Prakash entered both the boys' under-19 and under-16 singles finals of the Tata Indicom State junior ranking badminton championship at the KBA Stadium here on Monday.

In the under-16 semifinals, Aditya Prakash defeated Anirudh Shenoy 21-13, 21-12 and he will meet Prakash Jolly in the final. Jolly humbled Himanshu Kotbagi 21-11, 21-5 in the other semifinals.

In the under-19 singles semifinal, Aditya Prakash defeated B.S. Phalgun 21-19, 21-19 and set up a title clash with the top seed M.D. Anup Kiran, who defeated Shashank Achar 14-21, 24-22, 21-12.

In the under-16 girls singles final, Ankita Ashok will meet Shruthi Sridhar.

Boys Under-16 semifinals: Aditya R. Prakash bt Anirudh Shenoy 21-13, 21-12; Prakash Jolly bt Himanshu 21-11, 21-5.

Under-19 semifinals: M.D. Anup Kiran bt Shashank Achar 14-21, 24-22, 21-12; Aditya Prakash bt B.S. Phalgun 21-19, 21-19.

Under-13 semifinals: Shashank Menon bt Vinay Hari 21-14, 21-19; Rajas Jawalkar bt Himanshu 21-13, 11-10.retd.

Under-10 singles: Mithun Manjunath bt Sankeerth 21-12, 23-21; Sudeep bt Vashista 21-15, 21-15.

Under-10 doubles finals: Sankeeth-Vashista bt Mithun-Sudeep 21-19, 21-11. Under-13: Rajas-Himanshu bt Siddarth-Shiv Nayak 21-11, 21-11.

Girls under-16 semifinals: Ankita Ashok bt Sayali 24-22, 21-12; Shruthi Sridhar bt Jacqueline 21-8, 21-11. Under-13: Rishika bt Sindhu 21-9, 21-5; Uttara Prakash bt Sangeetha 21-16, 21-5. Under-10: Reshma Karthik bt Nidhi Kumar 21-6, 21-3; Priya Prakash bt Manya 21-12, 24-22, 21-1.

Under-10 doubles finals: Reshma-Jeevana bt Nidhi-Priya 21-10, 21-9. Under-13: Rishika-Divya bt Reshma-Devika 22-24, 21-17, 21-11.
