HASSAN: All India Congress Committee general secretary PraveeDavar has said that party president Sonia Gandhi has instructed the office-bearers to strengthen the organisation at grassroots-level. Mr. Davar, who was here to participate in the workers meeting organised by the District Congress Committee on Monday, told presspersons that the party was prepared to face general elections in the State. Terming the alliance between the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD-S) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State as "unholy", he said that the former Prime Minister and JD (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda, who was criticising BJP as communal party, had approved the alliance to make his son H.D. Kumaraswamy the Chief Minister. "It is a tragedy that, Mr. Gowda, who was bitter critic of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, has joined hands with communal forces to make his the Chief Minister's chair" he said.
