Faridkot: Police have registered a case against Sukhbir Singh Badal, Akali Dal leader and son of former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, and some others on a charge of attempting to murder a photographer. The case was registered against Badal and others on the directions of Punjab and Haryana High Court on a petition by Naresh Sehgal, of Kotkapura in Faridkot district. He had approached the court seeking action against Mr. Badal and others complaining that they had made an attempt on his life during the poll campaign in September 1999. — PTI
