Qatar Airways to increase flights from city
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Qatar Airways will soon increase its Hyderabad operations from four days a week now as part of its India expansion in view of the increasing out-bound traffic.
Currently, it operates 30 flights a week into India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Senior Manager (commercial) Ali Al Rais told a press conference on Monday that it was adding 27, including 10 new Airbus A 340-600s to its existing fleet of 47 aircraft.
Detailing the roadmap ahead, he said the airline was working to expand its fleet to 110 by 2010. Privatisation and development of airports had made things attractive for airlines. Area Manager, India, Naveen Chawla, said the airline would soon increase the number of flights to and from Hyderabad after acquiring new aircraft.
