Two workers killed as concrete trolley falls on them

Three suffer injuries; investigation is on

BANGALORE: Two construction workers died on the spot when a concrete trolley fell on them in Koramangala Police Station limits on Monday afternoon.

The police gave the names of the deceased as Venkataramanamma (43), a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, and Devappa (40), a native of Bellary district.

According to the police, work was under progress for an apartment on Sarjapur Road. Concrete was being lifted to the 14th floor, which was under construction. One of the trolleys snapped and fell on the workers on the ground. Three sustained injuries and are recovering. The Koramangala Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Electrocuted

A nine-year-old boy was electrocuted in K. Mallasandra of Hoskote taluk on Sunday. According to the police, Narayana Swamy, a fourth standard student, left his house in the evening to meet his father, Narasimhaiah, who works in a brick factory. On the way, he touched a live wire, the police said. The Kadugodi police have registered a case.
