An endless wait

The road overbridges in different stages of construction in various parts of the city gives a wrong idea to a visitor here. While he or she will see it as a sign of development of the fast-growing city, ready to take up a major role ahead, the city dwellers might see it as a white elephant, which never sees completion.

The Pullepady, Edappally and Thripunithura overbridges and the bridge on the national highway between Vyttila and Kundannoor are just some of the projects which never seem to be nearing completion.

Various authorities responsible for construction may have many excuses for the delay. But, all said and done, the public continues to wait endlessly for the day when these developments will bring about a real change.
