The Kerala State Electricity Board Officers' Association has, in its own way, been spearheading a campaign to conserve power and prevent accidents involving electricity. The association has been carrying this out through mass contact programmes for more than a decade. The public programmes are turning out to be popular. The one-hour mass contact programme for homemakers educates women on the right way of using electrical gadgets, energy conservation and safety measures, to name a few. The next such programme is planned on July 15 for members of a women's organisation in Gujarati Colony in the city. Organisations can contact the association on ph: 9447 517181.
