Monsoon treat for tourists

The hospitality industry in Kerala is making an all-out effort to "market the monsoon" in European and Gulf countries. The package includes rejuvenating Ayurvedic massages and aromatherapy. Tourists are also being offered backwater cruises in houseboats with five-star facilities. Visits to spice gardens and forested highlands in Idukki and Kottayam districts are also part of the monsoon package. Several resorts have designed their own monsoon cuisine, which includes local delicacies. Also on offer is a wide a variety of Ayurvedic food preparations.
