Reliance, Intel announce tie-up

HYDERABAD: Reliance Communications, an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group company, announced here on Tuesday a tie-up with Intel South Asia wherein those purchasing Intel-powered personal computers would get uninterrupted Internet connectivity through Reliance fixed wireless phone (FWP) and other wireless products. Announcing the launch, R. Balachandran, CEO, Reliance Communications (AP), said given the IT-savvy nature of Andhra Pradesh, taking connectivity to Tier II and III cities and the rural areas was the company's priority. The offer came with an FWP and Internet connection worth Rs. 1,700 and Rs. 1,200 usage time spread over three months. Surendra Kumar Arora, Director, Customer Solutions Group, Intel South Asia, said genuine Intel dealers selling branded and assembled PCs and laptops using Intel products and platforms in 13 cities of Andhra Pradesh had been enrolled by Reliance for the promotion.
