Lalu inks MoU in Italy

NEW DELHI: India and Italy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to pave the way for forming a joint working group that will identify railway projects of mutual interest.

Railways Minister Lalu Prasad, who is on a visit to Italy and other European countries, signed the MoU. He undertook a journey, spanning 210 km, from Rome to Naples on a train travelling at a speed of 310 km an hour.

Mr. Prasad also met the Italian Minister for Infrastructure and briefed him about Indian Railways, its network and services. He proposed that Italian companies join hands with IRCON and RITES for joint bidding in construction and consultancy projects in other countries.
