CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over Telangana. Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over Telangana and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema. The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimeters: Kalasa (Shimoga dt) 21, Khammardi (Shimoga dt) 16, Londa (Belgaum dt) and Kundapura (Udupi dt 11 each, Kaleshwaram (Karimnagar dt) 10.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over Kerala, Telangana and interior Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
