HUBLI: K.D. Mainrai, divisional railway manager, Hubli Division, inaugurated the electronic interlocking system at the Kyarkop station near here recently. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mainrai said the system had the advantage of better reliability and avoided human intervention and frequent maintenance. It would be helpful not only for the future modification of the yard, but also for the introduction of new shunt signal system, Mr. Mainrai said.
Congratulated
He congratulated a team of engineers of signal and telecom division on completing the work on the system successfully. He inspected the facilities at the Kyarkop station with senior officials. S.S. Joshi, additional divisional railway manager, Hubli Division, SWR; Vandana Garg, chief communications engineer; Nageshwara Rao, deputy chief signal and telecom engineer (construction); Arun Rathod, senior divisional commercial manager; and L.V.S.S. Patrudu, senior divisional personnel officer, were present. S. Lakshminarayana, chief signal engineer, and Nagendra Prasad, senior divisional signal and telecom engineer, spoke about the electronic interlocking system. Bholendra Singh, divisional signal and telecom engineer, proposed a vote of thanks.
