KOLLAM: The police on Tuesday arrested two persons on charges of murdering Ravindran (54), a toddy-tapper. The police said Somarajan (49), John (48) and Ravindran were friends. With Somarajan and John, Ravindran sat for a drink at the former's house in Ezhukone on Sunday night. The police said that during the course of the session, Ravindran passed some acid remarks against John and Somarajan. In a fit of rage, they pounced on Ravindran and whacked him on the head with a log. When he fell unconscious, the two sliced off his head with a chopper. On Monday night, Somarajan confessed about the murder at the Ezhukone police station. The severed head and torso were lying at Somarajan's house till then. He was staying there alone. The police registered a case and arrested Somarajan and John. The police said that they were verifying the veracity of Somarajan's confession. Ravindran was living separated from his family.
