HUBLI: Students of various colleges in the twin cities boycotted classes on Tuesday in response to the "College bandh" called by the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in protest against the fee structure and the seat-sharing formula fixed for professional courses. Activists of the ABVP took out a motorcycle rally holding banners and placards urging the State Government to revise the fee structure and seat-sharing formula. Office-bearers of the ABVP Mahendra Kautal, Suhas Kalghatgi, Sudhir Sonone, Vadiraj Kulkarni, and Krishna Bidralli led the protest. Holding meetings at college premises, the ABVP leaders alleged that the agreement reached between the Government and private professional educational institutions would benefit only rich students. It would affect the interests of poor meritorious students aspiring to take up professional courses, they said.
