State receives widespread rain

HYDERABAD: The State received fairly widespread rain for the second day of the present wet spell on Tuesday under the influence of the depression that moved closer to Raipur in Chattisgarh.

Many places in the Telangana region, however, experienced downpour. Asifabad in Adilabad district accounted for the day's highest rainfall (19 cm).

There were many places which recorded a rainfall of 1 cm.Other chief amounts of rainfall recorded during the 24-hour period ending this morning were: Boath and Luxettipet 5 cm each; Khanapur, Mancherial, Paderu and Sompet 4 cm each; Ramagundam, Perur and Venkatapuram 3 cm each; Eturu Nagaram, Ichapuram, Mandasa, Palakonda, Patapatnam, Jagtial, Manthani, Nirmal and Salur each 2 cm.
