NALGONDA: The Congress is all set to retain the Nalgonda Zilla Parishad Chairperson post by winning 29 of 59 ZPTCs. It is leading in another four seats till the last reports came in at 10 p.m. Its ally, the CPI, has won five seats and is leading in another one seat and the TRS has bagged two ZPTCs. According to an official briefing, the TDP has won nine seats and is leading in two more seats. Its ally the CPI(M) has wrested five seats and is all set to win two more seats.
BJP loses
The Bharatiya Janata Party, which contested 24 ZPTCs, has miserably failed to make the debut. A. Swamy (Nampally ZPTC) and P. Tirupatamma (Marriguda ZPTC) have failed to impress the voters. TRS rebel at Yadagirigutta Gongidi Sunita had to face the defeat. The TRS, which represented nine ZPTCs in the outgoing ZP, is the worst sufferer in the elections.
