Sangareddy: With the Congress leading in 18 and winning seven of the 46 ZPTCs including that in which its Chairman candidate Kranthi Kiran from Ramachandrapuram is running and TDP improving its position by winning four and leading in 12 the Telangana Rastra Samithi is slated for a major reprisal in its stronghold. TRS has won the Nangunoor ZPTC and is leading in Chegunta, Kowdipally, Siddipet, Chinnakodur and Kondapak. Counting for the remaining 26 ZPTCs is on. TDP chairperson aspirant Babu Mohan won the Chinnasankarampet ZPTC with considerable majority. TDP candidates were also leading in Sangareddy, Gajwel, Toopran, and Thoguta. Out of the 253 results declared so far Congress has won 103, followed by TDP in 97 and TRS in 30 MPTC seats. BJP remained at 2, CPI 1, CPI (M) 1, Janata Party 1 and others 15.
Rebel's support
Rebel TRS legislator Jayaprakash Reddy's open support to the Congress has shown results in Sangareddy with the Congress registering victory in 42 MPTCs and wiping out the TRS completely in the 65 results declared in 219 MPTC seats. TDP has so far won 19 MPTCs. In Medak division the TDP has given a tough fight to Congress with 39 MPTCs in hand while Congress was trailing with 38 and TRS with 6. In the Siddpet division out of the 99 results declared for 190 seats the TDP has won 39, followed by TRS with 24, and Congress 23. With the district administration deciding to take up the counting of MPTC and ZPTC votes simultaneously declaration of results has been delayed. Earlier in the morning the, media persons noticed a packet containing postal ballot papers belonging to Patancheru inside the boundary wall of Tara Degree College in Sangareddy where counting was taking place. District Collector B. Venkatesam promised action against officers concerned.
